On September 25th, 2021, the House Budget Committee approved legislative text for the Build Back Better Act. This action followed the earlier approval of a series of component bills by the House Ways and Means Committee. While the text of the bill at this stage is not yet final, the approval of the text by two committees begins to paint a picture of the basic proposals that might be included, in one form or another, in a final package approved by Congress sometime this fall.
This special report from CCH AnswerConnect provides a deep-dive into the proposed bill, including:
Tax increases on corporations and high-income individuals
Extension of many popular ARPA tax credits
Changes to taxation of foreign corporations
Modifications of estate taxes, grantor trust rules and retirement plans
Massive expansion and extension of green energy incentives
