Stellantis will be the new corporate name of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. and Groupe PSA. The name derives from the Latin verb “stello,” meaning “to brighten with stars.” As they move to complete their 50:50 merger, FCA and Groupe PSA say the name conveys leadership regarding the future of mobility while also paying homage to the rich history of both companies.
Stellantis will be used exclusively at the Group level, and an official logo is forthcoming. The names and the logos of the brands under the Stellantis umbrella will remain unchanged.
The merger is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of 2021. It is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by both companies’ shareholders at their respective Extraordinary General Meetings and the satisfaction of antitrust and other regulatory requirements.
