Autonomous Vehicles and the Long Road to Eliminating Pedestrian Deaths

Autonomous Vehicles and the Long Road to Eliminating Pedestrian Deaths Virtual Panel

Oct 14, 2020 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Having examined how ADAS could help prevent pedestrian and cyclist injuries and deaths, our second discussion for National Pedestrian Safety Month turns to fully autonomous vehicles and how they are working to make vulnerable road user deaths a thing of the past. Our next panel — “AVs and the Long Road to Eliminating Pedestrian Deaths” — will look at why pedestrians and cyclists present a particular challenge to autonomous vehicles, how developers are drawing on everything from behavioral psychology to video games to detect and predict their movements, and where they can make the biggest impact.
Panelists:
  • Sam Anthony, Ph.D. — Founder and CEO, Perceptive Automata
  • Nadia Anderson, Ph.D — Government Relations, Cruise
  • Gaby Hayon, Ph.D. — Executive Vice President, Research & Development, Mobileye
