World Economic Forum Virtual Panel – Can ADAS Improve Motorcycle Safety?
In 2021, the Forum is launching a new series of public dialogues to explore a breadth of challenges in road safety, and highlight technologies and policy innovations which can reduce collisions and fatalities. The first panel will focus on Motorcycle Safety.
In 2020, the industry saw the very first Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) being brought over to motorcycles from passenger cars. Yet with so much quantifiable danger associated with motorcycle accidents, why has it taken so long for these technologies to transition from cars to motorbikes? How do they differ from car ADAS? Will riders accept these systems?
To explore these questions, the Forum will host a 60 minute panel discussion, featuring:
• Energica Motorcycles
• Ride Vision
• The FIA
